How to connect multiple WhatsApp numbers within a single XCALLY instance

Overview

If you need to connect multiple WhatsApp numbers, you can configure several WhatsApp accounts simultaneously.

Each WhatsApp account can be associated with a different phone number and provider (Meta, Twilio, Kaleyra, Sinch). Each account is tied to a single phone number and can only be connected to one provider at a time.

Then you can assign different WhatsApp accounts to specific queues, teams or agents. All interactions are managed centrally within the Omni Desktop Interface.

Consider that each WhatsApp account is subject to the pricing and policies of your chosen Solution Provider (Meta, Twilio, Kaleyra, Sinch), including monthly fees, message volume charges, and template approval costs.

On the chosen solution provider, you will be able to proceed with verification phone number.

General Phone number Requirements

To use a number with the WhatsApp Business API:

  • the number must be able to receive a verification code by SMS or voice call

  • it has not to be already registered on WhatsApp Messenger or the standard WhatsApp Business App (you must delete the existing account first if it is) → Why is not possible to use the same number on Meta’s API and on a phone app?

  • You can’t share it with other WhatsApp uses concurrently and once registered to the API, you cannot use that number on the regular or Business app without deregistering it from the API first.

  • Newly registered numbers in a WhatsApp Business API account initially have limits on how many business-initiated chats they can start per day. These limits grow with quality and usage.
